Second attempt :) (Satan mustin want you to hear this... To pick just ONE life lesson is incredibly hard but I will share one of the most powerful one that hopefully will be one you can incorporate into you life. Years ago, I read "Battlefield of the Mind" by Joyce Meyer, my ultimate favorite Faith walking, God loving women. The concept that if I changed my thinking I could change my life seems extremely impossible. Besides, who thinks about what they are thinking about? Scriptures clearly tell us to "take each thought captive". I had read that many times but it never really sunk in until reading through this study. (Oh, I did the workbook too...overachiever here aka..messed up life that needed all I could use to help). I never stopped to do this though..take my thoughts captive. As time went by, I began practicing it...when I was in my car and about to get upset because I was late and there was a sweet old lady driving in front of me as if we were on an old dirt road still...Uh,no..Highway 35! I stopped my thought :What are you thinking susan? Usually it was "I will be late" And then "will you be later if you get pulled over? Calm down! Well done! Thoughts changed, anxiety vanished. This was a easy example; however, I must share my childhood was one that left deep trenches of negativity in my computer brain. Thoughts that the worst of worst viruses could not even erase. I wondered if I could really make this concept work for me. How? How do I change how I see myself, how I see life? I started slowly. I gathered up all the scriptures I could or that someone had given to me and wrote them on note cards. I carried them with me everywhere for I knew that my battle was not with the world but with I thought about the world and these cards were now my weapon to when the war in my mind. Overtime, and with much practice, it began to work. I began to not have to grab for my life line aka cards, I had unintentionally rewired my computer to think different merely by applying this concept of capturing each thought. Today, I no longer need the use of the cards in there phsyical form because they are now imprinted in my memory bank ready to fire any time I call them up. It is a simple thing to do, it just is not easy. However, I truly believe: "If you want something you have never had before you must be willing to do something you have never done before" (I wanted a life free from self defeat, negative self image, negative attitudes) "If don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change how you see it" I believe nearly all situations can be made better simply by how we take them. Attitude is a small thing that has major impact on your life. The life lesson I leave with you is simply; change your thinking, change your life.
For our actions are driven by our feelings, our feelings drive our thoughts, and if we change our thoughts, we can change our lives.
My long post got deleted :(
